The CXR 32 is a 3 way, 2 channel (stereo) equalising crossover. This crossover is available as a standard of-the-shelf item with equalization built in for planar magnetic drivers or as a customized crossover with optimized correction curves for your 2 way + sub or 3 way system. In the latter situation measurement data or detailed design data needs to be available.
Topology:
Subwoofer or woofer section:
Woofer or mid/bass section:
Planar or tweeter section.
All unused sections can be jumpered out throughout the design. Once the design is finished for a product, a consolidated PC board layout can be produced with only those sections that are relevant for the particular product.
No use is made of SK, VCS, biquad or State Variable filters. Instead classic LCR filters with FDNR's are used for maximum transparency and minimal component tolerance dependency. The inductors are replaced by gyrators in the highpass filters and D elements in the lowpass filters.
Power supply is a two stage regulated, dual tracking design with low noise and high line regulation.
Components
Resistors are metalfilm, 1%, 50 ppm/degree C. On request 0.1%,
25 ppm
Holco resistors can be substituted..
All capacitors are polystyrene or polypropylene, 2% tolerance.
Matched
to 0.5 % on request.
All rotary controls are conductive plastic for low noise and smooth
operation.
Stepped attenuators on request.
Decoupling capacitors are film, monolithic ceramic and
tantallum.
Operational amplifiers are AD797, OP176 and OP275. On request
we'll
substitute with your "favorite".
Power supply transformer (115-230 VAC) is toroidal for lowest magnetic leakage. Rectifier is equipped with bypassed high speed soft recovery diodes. Buffer capacitors are Nichicon, low ESR. External power supply is possible on request.
Enclosure
The frontpanel is 3/8" solid black anodize aluminum with countersunk
alu
knobs for the rotary controls. Sides and rear are high tech alu
extrusions.
Top and bottom are vinyl loaded, black paint over black anodize
alu
panels
Custom color schemes and silkscreens possible for production units.
