Clearview Active Crossovers with Speaker Equalization

The Clearview Active Crossovers are standard two or three way crossovers with additional functionality built in for driver equalization in speaker systems.

Classic off-the-shelf crossovers perform adequately when it comes to the signal dividing network part but have typically no provision for resonance control, cone break up removal, baffle step compensation, notchfilters, high frequency restauration, electronic time alignment or driver phase compensation.

The above features however are required for successfull driver integration in any speaker system and will be found in any optimized passive crossover networks that compensate for the real world challenges of speaker system building

The Clearview CXR ends all this.  The series started out with equalising crossovers allowing full range planar magnetic drivers to be biamped with a woofer or subwoofer system.  The equalising principles apply also to standard point source drivers and ESL panels.  As such the product offering has grown from a simple two channel two way over a two channel three way to a 5 channel 2 way.  New products or topologies are added on a regular basis.

Much like passive crossover, these active equalising crossovers are highly customized for a particular driver or speaker system.  Advantage for the bi- or tri-amped active crossover speaker systems are:

Higher efficiency, no passive crossover losses
Greater headroom even with smaller amplifiers
Higher damping factor
Lower amplifier intermodulation product level
Lower overall distortion with improved clarity.
