The graphis below were taken in my living room at 3 meter distance of the drivers with different size baffles. Although I gated out the major reflections, some nulling can be seen by reflections off some furniture. To make the graphs enjoyable (readable) I did apply 1/3 octave smoothing. Both drivers had a notch filter installed to equalize the 5+ kHz resonance peak. The larger distance from driver to microphone seems to lower the magnitude of the baffle diffraction effects. (versus measurements taken at 1 meter.)
Similar test was performed on a Carver 60" driver. As can be seen on the graphs, a baffle+driver width of 16-18 inches seems to be working for optimal flat response from 200 Hz on. The larger baffle is almost "too much" at this listening distance.
